I went to El Ranchito based on the reviews, most were pretty good. Plus I didn't want fast food, which is what most of the restaurants in the area are. The drive to the restaurant wasn't long, close to I95, which was nice. However, I think that was the only nice thing about this restaurant. I placed a carry out order of a shredded chicken quesadilla, black beans and rice, a side of guacamole dip, and an order of their special nachos with shredded chicken. Less than 5 minutes later after arriving back at my hotel and opening the nachos...I see that the "cheese" is more like milk in the bottom of the container. Needless to say, this left the "nachos" soggy and inedible. The chicken had no flavor whatsoever. But the cheese!!!! How does cheese turn into liquid in less that 5 minutes?! There's no way, it must've basically been liquid to start with! The quesadilla was edible, but that's about it. Again, no flavor to the chicken, but at least it wasn't soggy. The guacamole was okay, nothing special. The beans and rice the same. They were okay. The black beans tasted like they came from a can, water added to thin out the liquid, and heated up. They were very runny with not much flavor. The rice was the only thing that seemed like it was actually made instead of dumped from a can. If I even stop and stay in the area again, no doubt I will NOT eat at El Ranchito again. It was a waste of my hard earned money and time. Fast food would have served me better.
I wanted to try something different .. The service was friendly & the food was good.. Wouldn't mind going again.. The best Latino restaurant in Ridgeland compared to the one out on Main Street..
Never ask about unsweet tea they give you colored water. So called waiter has an attitude.
Really enjoyed the food. Atmosphere was nice & service was very good. Husband & I enjoyed a great dinner for under $30 with plenti of leftovers to boot. Would recomend dining here.
This is my favorite restaurant in Ridgeland! They are fast and efficient and the food is AWESOME
