Despite the pouring rain, I entered this Bobop's Marathon and was greeted by Chelsea, the cashier. When I complained about the price, she smirked at me stating "you need to join the club to get that price." She then held up some sort of rewards type card for me to see.
Bunch of foul mouthed trash hanging out inside and a cashier on the phone that couldn't even part her lips to tell me my total. One guy even walked up and was looking over my shoulder as I took out my cash. Not to mention the fuel prices sign is misleading.
Using a debit card, I started pumping gasoline into my SUV. At the end of my purchase, I looked down at the pump and saw $2.34/9. Wait a second - this is .25 a gallon more than the posted price.
The cashier was very nice. But this gas station needs some very good cleaning. The inside of the store was very dirty specially where the food is. And also the gas pumps are horribly dirty and it smells like gasoline is been spilled all over the place. I know gas stations smell like gasoline but not so horrible like in here. Also what's up with the gas machine not asking for my credit card zip code? I swiped and it was approved without asking zip code or pin...
Deceptive advertising and totally a scam. This Marathon gas station is right off I-95 and caters to travelers going north and south on the Interstate. I doubt a single one of them belongs to this club that Chelsea speaks of.
Driving south on Interstate 95, it was time for gas and a bathroom break. This Ridgeland, South Carolina, Marathon gas station had the best posted prices at the interchange. $2.09/9 a gallon so said the sign.
Charges you .15¢ more to debit card which is the same as cash. Beware your getting ripped off.
Chelsea stated "we get a lot of complaints about the sign, but I only work here."
Beware of gas pump price. Posted sign says $2.09/9 a gallon - pump price is .25 higher at $2.34/9.
AVOID! Sign says regular cash, but pump price is 25 cents higher, and no debit benefit. This is a ripoff on the interstate. January 2017
