Freider know what he is doing ,, he helped me with my BMW 740I, i take all my imports to him, he was highly recommended , and glad i went.
3/5 Stars because I don't want to ruin their rep completely. I know what a PPI is and what it costs, and what a good PPI covers. This place doesn't even touch what a PPI entails. Please look elsewhere for a PPI.
I've never been here, and don't plan to. From reading the reviews, this shop does apparently do good service, but I wanted to let everyone know about my email conversation with a representative of the company.
I asked how much it would cost for a PPI (Pre-Purchase Inspection), and what the PPI covers for a car I'm potentially interested in. The response I received was, "Visual inspection of the car, and a scan check for free." This is NOT a PPI.
Friendly and good customer service. They provide mechanical service for a fair price. Serviced my car quickly and were able to fix the issue my car was having.
I just had an absolutely fantastic experience at Import Service of the Lowcountry. A repair on my BMW M3 that the local dealer said would be $5,500 (and clearly didn't take the time to properly diagnose) was instead properly diagnosed, parts ordered and a repair completed in under 30 hours for SUBSTANTIALLY less $$$. The car is running perfectly again. Thank you Kevin and Frieder for a job well done!
Probably the best Benz mechanic I have ever met. I'd give more stars if I could. My Mercedes Benz 2004 E320 4matic broke down in SC while driving from Jacksonville, FL to Philadelphia, PA. The electric in my car failed. Luckily I was able to get my car to a rest stop. Tow truck driver recommended Frieder, because he was pretty much the only mechanic in the area that was qualified to work on a Benz. I really had no choice, so I agreed to have my car towed there. At first I thought I was screwed because I figured I was going to be stranded in SC for at least a night, and because I assumed the repair was going to be expensive. That was not the case. As soon as we got my car to the shop, Frieder took a look at my car right away because this was an emergency as he knew I was from out of town and in the middle of a 13 hour drive. He figured out the electric problem with my car in less than 10 mins. At first he thought he might have to replace a computer gateway, but he took a closer look and instead was able to fix my existing gateway. Plus he fixed my car so that the problem would not repeat itself. I was in and out of his garage in about a half hour and he charged me only $100. There is no doubt this guy is a real expert on German cars. I don't think any other garage could do what he did because they don't know Mercedes Benz like Frieder does. His employees were all very knowledgeable too.
After an interstate breakdown because of an electrical issue on a Mercedes Benz, Frieder had me back on the road in less than an hour for an unbelievable price. You cannot beat service like that.
